Emilio Hernandez was mentored by Praxedis Guerrero, who would become one of the architects and heroes of the Mexican Revolution. Both grew up together in the same sprawling hacienda. Emilio was a homeless boy laborer while Prax was the privileged but rebellious son of the owner. They were close friends. They were like brothers.
